Hi!!! Here again comes some more pictures. We are now back in Washington at JD place....and we just finished a very nice taco meal. It was very good. Tomorrow in the morning we are going to church and then on monday i am flying back to Sweden. As i mentioned yesterday we went to Mexiko a few days ago. We weren't really able to take many pictures....because there were basically no tourist in the city...except we....and everyone kept on staring and yelling at us.....so we figured that it may not be too safe to show people our camera. Anyway....i got a few shots. This first one is from the border. In the backround on the hill...you can see Mexiko. It is amazing how everything changes....the moment you cross the border. It is like entering an entirely different world!
Two more pictures form Mexiko.
As you may remember i told you that we went to Tombstone...an old....real cowboy town. They have been able to preserve the town...just as it looked during the time of the cowboys!!! Very interesting!!! So...here are some pictures from Tombstone.
Two cowboys outside the local Saloon.
And here together with JD's grandparents.
One last "posing cowboy" picture. I really like these old cowboys style houses. Aren't they nice?
During our time in Tombstone we also went to look at a little theater or show. I don't know the word in english....but anyway....some people were acting some real historical events...that took place about 100 years ago. Very interesting!!!
Here's a picture of a very old theater. It is more than 100 years old!!!
We also visited a very old graveyard. Here many of the people and cowboys of Tombstone were buried. A lot of the tombstones and crosses said unknown...but still many had names of them. Most of the people were murdered, stabbed, hanged, killed my indians or had commited suicide. It clearly showed us that life in Tombstone in the 19th century was not easy. Here are two tombstones we saw. In case you can't see what it says on the first tombstone it says the names of the people buried there and then adds "legally hanged, Mar 8, 1884."
I passed one tombstone with a very interesting note on it. I thought i'd like to show it to you. This is what is says....first the name and date of the dead person and then this, "Remember...that as you are...so once was i....and as i am....you soon will be....remember me." I thought it was interesting. So simple...but soo true!!!
Here's a picture of the beautiful view from the graveyard.
As i said we left Arizona this morning...and are now in Washington. I have to say that i have had a wonderful trip!!!! It has been great!!! But i do have one problem. I do not understand this. All of my pants have started shrinking...even though i don't wash them?!? Hmmm....wonder if anyone of you ever have had the same problem. Well...while i continue to ponder on this issue....i'll finnish my plate of apple pie and icecream. It tastes just faaantastic!!! Before i quit....i want to post one last picture. This shot was taken just before we left for the airport this morning. In the picture....me....and JD's grandparents.
Ok....that's it for this time. I need to finish my apple pie now. So...i'll write more next time. Have a good day everyone!!! Take care!!! |
